Congregation at Duke Chapel

As a congregation located in a university environment, we value education. Christian education, whether it happens on Sunday morning, in an evening book study, or at an overnight retreat, can help deepen our discipleship.  We are committed to offering a range of educational opportunities that serve all ages. Our programming includes the following opportunities:

Sunday Morning Classes

Christian education classes are available for all ages on Sunday mornings from 9:45 – 10:45 a.m. in the lowest level of the Divinity School on most Sundays throughout the year.  Coffee and refreshments are available at 9:30 a.m in the Westbrook 00 level hallway.  New participants are welcome to attend at any time.

Bible and Book Studies

Periodically, we offer Bible studies and book discussions, which most often meet in the homes of participants.  For instance, during Lent we typically offer several book groups which will help participants reflect on their lives and prepare for the celebration of Easter.

Regular retreats provide us with opportunities for in-depth education as well as significant fellowship.  Fall and winter retreats are held locally on Saturday mornings.  An annual overnight retreat is held in late May.  Retreats provide a treasured time to step away from our schedules to spend time with our faith family.
