The Congregation at Duke University Chapel serves as the church family home for those who worship at Duke University Chapel.
We are an interdenominational Congregation comprised of community members and families, students, and faculty. We come from across campus and around the Triangle. Through education, mission, and fellowship, we strive to deepen our relationship with God, with one another, and with our neighbors.
The Congregation at Duke University Chapel joyfully welcomes all persons regardless of age, race, class, origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other distinction, and invites membership and participation in all of its ministries.

Education Classes for Adults, Children and Youth
We also offer adult, children and youth programs on Sunday mornings at 9:45 a.m. Everyone is welcome! Classes are held in the Divinity School Building which is located next to Duke Chapel on the Chapel Garden side (enter via the door closest to the Chapel handicapped access ramp). All Congregation education classes are held in the sub-basement level which is accessible via the elevator.
Adult Forum - Sunday Morning, 9:45 AM
With a variety of guest speakers, Adult Forum offers presentations and discussions on a wide range of thought-provoking topics, including Biblical studies, current social issues, and the work of mission agencies. Adult Forum meets in person in the Divinity School Westbrook Building, Room 0012 and via Zoom.
Adult Bible Study - Sunday Morning, 9:45 AM
Our 2026 Fall Adult Bible Study class will focus on exploring the Wisdom Literature in the Old Testament, including Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and Song of Songs. Join us for a discussion on God and meaning as we explore these ancient texts and their relevance for our lives today. The Adult Bible Study is led by Congregation intern Jia Cummings. This class meets in person in the Divinity School Westbrook Building, Room 0013 and via Zoom.
Ministries for Children and Youth - Sunday Morning, 9:45 AM
WEE PRAISE: For Children ages 0-3 along with parent(s) or caregiver(s) in the Divinity School Westbrook Building, Room 0011.
GODLY PLAY: For Children in preschool - 5th grade in the Divinity School Langford Building, Room 0054 Langford.
YOUTH PROGRAM: The Youth Sunday School Class (grades 6-12) meets in Westbook 0015 each week.
Exploring Membership at the Congregation
Are you interested in learning more about the Congregation at Duke University Chapel—or considering making the Congregation your church home?
Join us this fall for Exploring Membership, a three-session opportunity to get to know one another, learn more about the Congregation and our relationship with Duke Chapel, explore the faith and practices that shape our life together, and consider what it means to belong and participate in this community.
We will gather on Sundays, October 11, October 18, and November 1. On October 25, rather than meeting for class, participants will be invited to experience the life of the Congregation with fresh attention. Those who choose to become members will be welcomed into the Congregation during worship on Sunday, November 8.
Whether you are ready to become a member or simply curious to learn more, you are welcome. Participating does not obligate you to join.
